Epidemiology and population health

Dr Vicky Hosegood is a family demographer with extensive experience in population health and epidemiology research in low and middle-income countries. Her primary research interests relate to the demography and health of families in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus in South Africa, HIV and AIDS. She is involved in research projects that:

  • investigate family and household factors and processes that promote health and wellbeing across the life course
  • improve the measurement, collection and analysis of family demographic and health data in resource poor settings
  • inform the design and evaluation of family-based interventions
