Miss Phindile Mabaso is a Grade 12 Bursary holder funded by the Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies.  Miss Mabaso is currently in her 3^rd year at the University of Zululand, studying towards her BSc in Biochemistry & Microbiology.  She had passed her first year in 2010 with 5 merits, and in her second year, achieved 1 distinction and 5 merits.

Phindile matriculated at Silethukukhanya High School in Khula Village, and is currently only 20 years of age.

As part of her studies, Phindile requested an opportunity to observe proceedings at the Africa Centre Virology Lab in Durban, which was scheduled from 23-27 January 2012.
