Resistance Validation

This project, which will be carried out in 2010, aims to validate an in-house HIV drug resistance sequencing (genotyping) method. We will re-sequence the 60 samples produced in the abovementioned (ResistanceSurveillance) project. The sequencing process will be based on the ANRS (French AIDS Research Agency) genotyping method. The sequences produced with commercial and in-house methods will be evaluated using bioinformatics programs such as Phred/Phrap/Consed package. This project objective is to substantially reduce (estimated by half) the cost of HIV drug resistance genotyping at the Africa Centre laboratory.
